One (or a few) A Day...

I've been working out ways I can get myself to be more productive and also more out there in the online world (blogging, reading blogs, tweeting/posting on FB/pinterest/etc) and I've decided to have a challenge for myself this month.

It will be called the: One of Each a Day Challenge...

Stupid titled, but that's okay. Plan is, visit a blog each day. Leave a comment on said blog. Promote something on Twitter and/or a social media of my choice(Examples of promoting are: a book release, book sale, cover reveal, some other sort of announcement, a blog post, or things of that sort-or other promotional type things). And post on any two of my sites daily. (I've got Twitter, Facebook, my blog, Pinterest, Google +, Tumblr, and Instagram)(With all those I shouldn't have a problem posting something...aside from how little I've even ever posted on a few of them. :/ )

This will be my only Tuesday post for now. I didn't plan on having Tuesday posts, but I forgot to post this yesterday so I'm just going with it. I mean, really, I should've posted it last week, but oh well. I'm a few days late on the whole first of the month thing, but I'll make up for it.

And that's that, guess we'll see how this turns out. Have a great day. See you tomorrow for a new Insecure Writer's Support Group post. :)

Anything happening this month that you'd like people to know about? Got a blog post you'd like me to promote or maybe a book release? Hell, want some new Twitter followers or some more blog traffic? Just let me know in the comments and I'll spread the word.

Mention Monday - Brighton Luke, American Dreamsicle, and a Guest Post

Hey, hey...I've got a special Mention Monday for you. :)

(EDIT: First off, I've got my first guest blog post today over at SC Write - Writing, Publishing, and Harry Potter. I'm not sure the time it will go up, but be sure to check it out. :D )

The awesome Brighton Luke has a Kickstarter thing happening right now. Kickstarter is a website that people use to get donated money that is used toward a project they'd like to complete. For this one, it's a movie Brighton and his crew would like to make happen.

I think the idea behind the film is interesting and I'd donate if possible, unfortunately I'm not able to. That is why I'm making this post. If you could check it out and give if possible, that'd be awesome. If not, then I'm hoping you can at least help spread the word.

This Kickstarter project will be going until August 8. Please check it out.

You can find out more about Brighton on Twitter, Facebook, and his blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Mentioning. :)

Every Little Bit Counts

I recently decided I would post reviews of books I read. This is a new thing for me. I've reviewed books on places such as Amazon and Borders (when they were still around :(  However, I thought it would be a good addition to my blog, something else for my readers. Especially since my readers, read. *GASP* I know right, odd concept, a reader, reading. BUT it does happen. Huh, who woulda thunk it...

So, I posted my first book review for my blog. First up was Calista Taylor's Viridis. (IDK if I really did it "right" but it gives you a bit to help you decide if you think you may want to read it-which you should read it.) (If you haven't read my review, and would like to: Here's the link :) This was only my first review of many more to come. There will be more and I will also recommend books as well....

The other day, I began following @Drunk_on_Books who sent me a DM telling me he is looking forward to any book recommendations I have for him. I thought, huh, recommendations, okay, I could do that. I love to read, and I love to spread the word about books. Then I thought, wait, what if I recommend a book that he thinks it total crap and doesn't want anymore recommendations from me? So I was on the fence. I sucked my worries up though and gave him my recommendation for Viridis and also one for Edge of Hyperspace by Scott Seldon.

Now, I only have 9 followers on my blog. BUT I have 157 followers on Twitter and I have two different Facebook accounts and different friends on each. Point being I am not a complete nobody, and therefore I am perfectly capable of spreading the word about someones book(s). And I love spreading the word.

Every review, every recommendation, every mention brings your book to a readers attention. Even if you think the person talking about your book is just a little silent fish in a sea of much bigger fish with much bigger prescnece. Don't knock someone who is willing to talk about your book(s)...Every little bit counts.
