Sadness

I titled my post Sadness because I honestly wasn't sure what to call it. Plus, I'm full of sadness tonight. I've posted many times after a tragedy and the one that happened in Connecticut yesterday is no exception.

It almost was. I mean, really, I don't want to hear about it anymore. Not because I'm so heartless that I don't care. No, quite the opposite. I care too much. It's too close and so wrong. I hate the bad things that exist in this world, hate that we have to have bad things happen all the time. I don't understand it, nor do I want to. I just want it to go away.

It hurts, it makes me cry and makes me want to know why. And it makes me thankful even more that I could go to my kids right now and hold them in my arms. Makes me so happy that I got to pick my kids up from school, take them to the movie they've been asking me to go to, put up a Christmas tree, wrap their presents, everything. I'm just thankful.

That's it really, I meant to only write something brief and then post a poem I wrote because I write when I'm emotional. Since my sadness does not belong in any of my three current WIPs at the moment, I wrote a poem. So, here it is.

Angels

Life unlived
Experiences missed
Milestones passed
Without chance
Knowledge ungained
Beauty unchanged
Graduations planned
Never allowed
Firsts unknown
Innocence stolen
Promises avowed
And unbroken
Unfair choices
Misplaced sorrow
Angels born
Who deserved a tomorrow.

That's it. And I'm actually hoping to have a special post coming up soon, so I'll see you again later this week. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good weekend. ((((((hugs))))))) because I think hugs are really nice, especially right now. :)

NaNoUhOh...

Well, I'm a little behind on the NaNo goal, but I'm working on pulling out of it and getting back ahead. I didn't post my update on Thursday like I planned because I was really hopeful that in a day or two I'd be back on track. I'm not yet, but I know I can do it.

I really don't have much else to update, so here's a poem to fill the space.

Emotions running high
The smell fills the night
Wondering where to place
Something so easily erased
Pain from the heartache
Sadness for all to take
Revel in the despair
Of it all, with no care
Hatred deeply rooted
Evil left unmuted
A seed that, once sprouted
Will spread outward
Lustful minds
Passionate times
Coming then going
And leaving you growing
Love in your heart
Adore from the start
Is it true that’s all we need
To overturn the misplaced seed

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend and that you have a great week. Happy Sunday :)

Thoughtful Tuesday

Manuscript

I love you
You inspire me to be
So much more
Than I ever imagined
You bring out everything
In me that makes me great

I hate you
What have you done
Why do you despise me so
You bring me down
Cut me up into pieces
Now it's too late

I'm sorry
I shouldn't have said that
Forgive me
Don't leave
Everything I am
Is what you've made

Balance is key
To our existence
We are nothing apart
Empty shells of what
Could be, equals
Perfect mates.

This poem was inspired by weeks of ups and downs with my revisions. My MS and I have struggled with one another back and forth, good and bad, for a while. This poem has probably been a long time coming. :p

Happy Tuesday :)

And Y'all Thought I'd Take A Break

Nope, couldn't do it. I should, right? I mean, who wants to read more posts the day after the challenge? I don't know, but oh well. Things happening soon...

I'm going to do my first Insecure Writer's Support Group post tomorrow. Come by and check it out :)

Also, I already told you I'd be giving away some books soon. Next week will be the announcement about one, so make sure you come back. ;)

If you missed my U post, please go check it out and help Joshua with his fight. You don't even have to spend any money-tweet about it, post on your Facebook or blog, everything helps. <3

AND if you missed my book review on Sunday-I reviewed Become by Ali Cross and it's AWESOME, check out my review-here. (Just scroll down to Book Review-if you click on the title it will show you the spoilers. You've been warned :)

And one more thing since I haven't done it in a while...

It's All The Same

Love starts with L
Just like lies
Which end in s
As does tears
Which rhymes with fears
Caused by hate
That ends in e
Just like love

Keeping Distant, Kit-Kats, and other random 'K's

Knowledge Kneaded Knocks Karma

So I said I wasn't going to break my schedule, but I am. Today should have been a TAG! but it didn't work out how I wanted. So-here's a poem and some more randomness. :)

Keeping Distant

She admires him
Only because he's 'great'
'Perfect'
Enticing in every way

Tears form in her eyes
Resentment in her mind
Anytime she thinks of the consequence
Of everything she likes

Keeps hesitating
To really open up
Restrains her every impulse
Inside of what she loves

Staying right with him
Each step of the way
Yet shielding her heart
Protecting it from break.

(That was one from the archives.)

And on to the randomness...

Kit-Kat: I really like this candy, but I despise the commercials for them. They irk me every time.

Kat Williams: I don't know exactly what it is, but I find him to be hilarious.

King: As in Stephen King. One of the most insanely awesome insane writers ever. There are a few of his books that I can't stand, but for the most part I love him.

Krueger: My dad is the person who got me into horror movies (my mom got me into horror books), yep awesome parents I have-and I actually mean that. I was 2 when I first sat down with my dad and watched Nightmare On Elm Street. I had nightmares for a long time, but when the second one came out, did I pass? Nope. Dad and I sat on the couch and watched that one too. And with each new one that came out, the cycle continued.
On the same K...one year(I was around 11 or so) at the fair there was a haunted house that you could walk through. It had 'wax' figures of people/creatures from scary movies. (Chuckie, Jason, Leatherface and yep...Krueger.) So a friend of mine and I were walking through and we got to Freddy. My friend starts talking big shit about how lame Freddy was and whatnot. We're all laughing it up and then-BAM!-Freddy jumps up, over the rope, and starts chasing us. Yeah...some of the figures were real people in costume. Even though I knew the person wasn't really Freddy, it scared the crap out of me. But it was one hell of an adrenaline rush.

King Koopa: Now a few Tuesdays back I talked about classic video games. And Mario is definitely a classic. For me, Koopa is one of the best antagonists in a video game ever.

And that concludes my random thoughts for today. Although I'm sure it bugs me more than my readers, next week I will definitely be back on schedule. In fact...I have a pretty awesome TAG! already set up. ;)

Happy K-day :)

Seasons

Summer comes
Summer goes
Then comes winter
Rain, sleet and snow

We have months of heat
Then months to freeze
Get those months to play
Then those of cuddling

Seasons change
They come and go
All they do for me
Is bring signs of hope

Hope for new
Hope for change
Hope for a better year
And many more seasons.

My Love

The first day we met
I could see in your eyes
Determination, power
An ever burning fire

An angel
In every sense of the word
Beauty and passion
A fighter for sure

Attitude to keep me
Always on my toes
A heart so big
There's barely room to grow

Like the peace
Of a calm summer night
That I ever lived without you
Just doesn't seem right

Life will bring us struggle
Heartache and pain
I promise to be there
To shield you from the rain

My heart is yours
From now until death
My love remains
Stronger than the rest

This is a poem I wrote for my daughter. She turns 4 on Monday (March 12) so I wanted to post it for her-even if she can't read it :) Happy Birthday Asianae! :D

Love

Late on the poem again this week...Sorry y'all :)

Love

A mother's protection
A father's affection
A sister's objections
A brother's obsessions

A baby bird learning to fly
Its mom letting it go
A baby bear hibernating alone
During its first snow

A puppy given to a child
Learning all sorts of new tricks
A kitten given as a gift
Soft, warm, cuddly, the perfect pick

A couple in the park holding hands
Sitting on bench, discussing their life plans
A proposal as she stands
And of course an acceptance

A mother's gentle touch
Lying next to your puppy snug
Or something your man does
Bottom line, life is love.

Storyteller

Today is a short poem for the writers :)

Storyteller

Names constantly swirling
Around in your head
Adventures and misfortunes hover
While you lie in your bed

What ifs and maybes
Fill up your thoughts
Movements and pictures
That never stop

Strange places and people
Take up your dreams
You find the oddest friends
In people you've never seen

Your hands begin
To have a mind of their own
Your imagination strives
To find its own home

Almost

*gasp* I forgot to post a poem for today. My mind has just been all over the place. So, I fished this out of an old poetry book, I think I was around fifteen or so...

Almost

Almost made me cry
Almost made me sad
Almost made me
Feel bad

Almost made me believe you
Almost had me fooled
Almost got me
Drowned in your pool

Almost made me hurt
Almost made me sorry
Almost is the word
Yeah, right, more like hardly

Almost this and that
Almost brought me down
But everyone knows
Almost doesn't count.

Details

You laugh in my face
While hiding in disgrace
Keeping the steady pace
Of allusion

You allude me every chance you get
Staying the course you set
Making sure I always fret
About the resolution

You resolve to ruin me
Steady and precisely
Hiding behind the scene
Stealing my conclusion

You conclude you've won
Satisfied by the damage done
Giddy from the fun
Of destruction

But in your destructive path
There is something you lack
My imagination cannot be trapped
By detailed creation

Lust

Lingering glances
In each others direction
Light touches
Showing affection

A quick good-bye hug
Then an added hello
Gradually becoming more frequent
Release, more slow

Pecks on the cheek
Moving to the neck when close
Leading to the gentle touch of the lips
Deeper, more enticing, eventual

Caresses of the hands
End up on the arms
Comfort making them roam
Causing alarm

A nip of the earlobe
Tongue teasing the collarbone
The need growing
Finding even more places to roam

Wandering hands
Rising hear within
The desires like fire
The flames envelope them

From the first look
First brush
Comes a need
An unmentionable lust

I Love You

It is Valentine's Day after all :)

I Love You

I love your eyes
your lips
I love your hugs
your kiss

I love your voice
your words
I love your personality
your sweetness more

I love your hands
your arms
I love your strength
your hold

I love your smile
your skin
I love your color
your complexion

I love everything about you
everything you do
Simply said with three words
I love you

Writing

The inspiration
Of each word you write
The motivation
That is life

The experience
Your teacher
The knowledge
Your keeper

The narration
Is your only guide
The reality
That it's not a fun ride

The imagination
Shining light on truth
The story
In your head, screaming at you

The heart
Helps your thoughts progress
The soul
Does all the rest

Learn

I've made mistakes
That can never be changed
Done things I shouldn't have
And all with no shame

You have to do wrong
Or everyone would be perfect
So I'm not ashamed of actions
Just try to keep 'em in check

Things I've done
No-one will ever know
But I'm older now
And have learned to grow

Mistakes are part of life
It's okay to make them
Just use your head
And make sure you learn somethin'

She Stands Strong

So many years
So many fears
So many tears
She stands strong

So much to see
So much to be
So much to need
And She stands strong

So much to give
So much to live
So much to lend
Still She stands strong

So many lies
So many cries
So many ties
Yet, She stands strong

So much relying
So much denying
So much trying
But She stands strong

All the wrong
All the days long
All the same songs
And still, She stands strong

Set Me Free

Set Me Free

Come rescue me
From this web I'm in
Come help me
Fly away from here

I need to get out
I'm dying
Come save me
From this surrounding

I'm going crazy
I need to fly
Why won't you save me
Do you enjoy seeing me cry

Come rescue me
Help me get released
Come to my aid
Set me free

Will There Ever...

I would normally space my poetry out, but I am working a new angle. Each week I will post one or two poems. I can't schedule my blog posts because I write them when inspiration hits. People say if you want a following it's best to have a set day that you post something, have a routine. Well, I can't do that. What I can do though, is give my followers a new poem or two each week. Now, they won't always be new, some will be poems I wrote when I was younger, but anywho. If you would like a guarantee that there will be something to read on my blog, my poetry is the only thing I can guarantee will be posted weekly. Now, on to the poem. This was selected at random, I told myself whatever page I opened to would be the poem I post, so, here it is.

Will There Ever...

Will there ever be water
Clear enough to see to the end
Will there ever be fresh air
For us to breathe in

Will there ever be clear skies
For the birds to fly
Will there ever be a person
Who isn't to busy to stop and say hi

Will children ever get to play outside
Without parents having to worry
Will anyone ever have
A true happy ending like bedtime stories

Will there ever not
Be homeless people on the streets
Will the rich ever know
How it feels in a coach seat

Will there ever be a time
When every addict seeks help
Will there ever be
A promise kept

Will there ever be
True happiness in this world
Will forever, ever be
More than just a word

Close Your Eyes (Color Blind Part Two)

I debated whether or not to do both part one and two. The final decision was to put them both up. So, here is the part two of my Color Blind poem...

Close Your Eyes
(Color Blind Part 2)

Red, blue, green, yellow
Every color is unique
Each one
So pretty

Black, brown, tan, white
No color is superior
They're all equal
To each other

Yet discrimination
And separation, is everywhere
People judging by colors
From here to there

But some colors mix
To make a rainbow
And together they are
So beautiful

Don't judge something by color
Whether blue, purple, black or white
Just reach out with your heart
And close your eyes
